Polite Notice

A set of music books, ‘Carols for Choirs ‘ (in green covers)  is missing from the Choir Vestry. Any information about their whereabouts will be welcome. If they have been borrowed, please return as soon as possible.

Table Sale

It was an ‘amazing’ Table sale (in one respect). The tables were full to capacity with many interesting items to sell (well, I think so!) An air of excited expectations pervaded the hall as we waited to open the doors. The only disappointment was an average number of customers! How do we encourage more to come, and with money to spend??  (Suggestions please!) The table holders did not go home having made their fortunes but we had fun and £280 was raised for church funds!

Pam.

Parish Group

Members enjoyed a wonderful evening of entertainment for the February meeting. A quartet of musicians making their debut performance under the name “Loose Ends” played and sang  a variety of easy listening songs from different parts of the world.  Ukuleles, Mandolins, guitars and percussion were all used and members joined in and foot tapped as the quartet performed their repertoire. Following the entertainment members enjoyed a Bring and Share buffet in a very convivial atmosphere. We were delighted to see Betty Hornsey back with us after her long spell of recovery from a fall and subsequent surgery. We were also pleased to hear that Audrey Bark, Joan Downing and Tony Birmingham are making  progress at home following their recent hospitalisations.

The next meeting will be on 18th March when we have a speaker to talk to us about “Surviving in Soho”, a talk which is said to be “a bit saucy and a little rude in places”!

FoodBank News

Hi Everyone,

Just to let you know that we fed 236 people in January distributing 1,756 kg of food in the process. Donations in January were a total of 1,212 kg, so we gave out over 500 kg more food than we received. This has left us with stock shortages (in some cases total lack) in the following: Sugar (500 g), Pasta Sauce, Fruit Juice (long life), Meat, Milk (long life) and Coffee.

To date we have fed 1,192 people and distributed 9744 kg of food.
