Children at Blacklands Church
All children are welcome at Blacklands Church.
We decided give the money raised from the sale of cakes on Palm Sunday to charity. Zoe suggested donating to Water Aid so for the next few months we shall raise money to that charity. We had a good start and folk donated a total of £13.30. For 20th May 2018, Pentecost, we donated to Christian Aid.
On the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Sundays in the month at 10.30 children have their own Sunday School in the Parish Hall and rejoin the service in time for a blessing at Holy Communion. Children are offered a variety of activities during Sunday school; teaching is Bible based and the relevance of Christ’s teaching to the present day is emphasised. The children play an important role in the church; on the 3rd Sunday usually they have sessions making cakes, which they sell to the congregation.
On the first Sunday of the month there is usually a family service which is suitable for the children to stay and there is no separate Sunday School when this happens. The next Family Service is on 4th November.
The Sunday School programme for October is:
7th - Harvest Festival Family Service in the Church
14th - Sunday school in the hall
21st - Baking in the hall
28th - Sunday school in the hall
