Try your skill at the  Yes/No Quiz and the “aah” game! Hear a 2 minute sermon! Party poppers and chocolates!  Think!  Laugh! and Celebrate!

Carol Singing.

Just a reminder, about carol singing at Fabee Nursing home (on the corner of Faeron and St. Helen’s Park Roads) at 2:30 p.m., on Wednesday the 11th December. If you have about an hour and a half on that day free, and can sing just a little, you will enjoy taking part. We are always made most welcome, Jean Gill plays her keyboard. We look forward to seeing you, and you, and you ???

Many thanks, God Bless!

Parish Group

The November meeting was a talk on the work of the Kent Surrey Sussex Air Ambulance Service. The talk was given by a volunteer from the KSSAAS and was delivered in a light hearted manner but with a serious description of the valuable and efficient service provided by the service and how it relies on the support of the public and other organisations as it receives no financial support from government sources. Although the organisation is currently only able to provide a daytime service trials are now being held to try and extend it into a 24 hour operation. This enhancement obviously creates further financial demands as extra crew members have to be employed. If anyone missed the talk but would like further information about the KSSAAS there are leaflets at the back of the church.

The next meeting on 16th December will be a “Victorian Christmas”, an entertainment utilising lantern slides. Members are invited to wear Victorian dress if they would like to do so, and if you have a singing voice please bring that along as well!

As always new members and guests are welcome.

Paul Cabban.

Poinsettia time again.

The church will be open on Saturday 21st December from 9:30 a.m., to decorate for Christmas. If you would like to be involved or donate a poinsettia please come along. We will also gratefully receive them at  Sunday morning service on the 22nd December.

The New Parish Giving Scheme

In September, all 73 on the Church Electoral Roll were invited to join the Diocesan-supported Parish Giving Scheme by posting Application Forms (in the stamped addressed envelopes provided) before 30th November. This was so that their revised monthly church giving would begin by Direct Debit on 1st January 2014, and their donation (with Gift Aid addition from tax-payers) would arrive in the Blacklands bank account on 10th of January and regularly each following month. The initial response was good.

The future of Blacklands Church remaining open is now reasonably assured, but we ourselves have to pay for its upkeep and ministry. Provided we can maintain a Reliable Income the outlook is most challenging. This is why we are encouraging everyone to give through the Parish Giving Scheme. We look for many happy returns before Christmas!
