Blacklands Annual Shoe Box Appeal
We are launching our annual shoe-box appeal at the beginning of September. The folk at Blacklands have always shown their generosity by supporting this appeal and we are asking once again for donations to this worthy cause. The shoe boxes are sent to deprived children in Eastern Europe by the Mustard Seed Relief Project, an established charity based in Eastbourne.
These are the items we urgently need:
Shoe boxes – wrapping paper – toothpaste – toothbrushes – soap –
flannels – sweets – hats – scarves – gloves – pencils – pencil sharpeners –
rubbers – notepads – felt tipped pens – colouring pencils
Age appropriate toys e.g.,
3-5 years – toy cars – balls – jigsaws – dolls
6-11 years – dolls – skipping ropes – jewellery – balls – playing cards – yoyo
12-15 years – marbles – travel games – juggling balls – baseball caps –
playing cards – geometry sets – hair accessories – jewellery – make up –
perfume sticks – talc – deodorant – dolls – skipping ropes
Mustard Seed ask for a donation of £2.50 with each shoe-box so any financial donations towards this will be gratefully received.
He set another parable before them, saying, "The Kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field; which indeed is smaller than all seeds. But when it is grown, it is greater than the herbs, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in its branches."
